The state-level entrance exam conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell under the guidance of the Government of Maharashtra will soon be conducted for facilitating admissions to Undergraduate courses like-B.Tech/B.E./ B.Pharmacy, and Pharma D, etc. Aspirants looking for a future in Engineering, Pharmacy, and Agriculture colleges in the state of Maharashtra will be required to sit for the Online examination (Computer Based Test) to be conducted as MHCET Exam 2021. The prospectus will soon be available on the official website carrying all the necessary information. We will update the page as soon as the information is made official. 

The exam is conducted in PCM and PCB groups. Candidates will be required to write three papers i.e. Paper-1, Paper-2, and Paper-3. All three papers containing a total of 150 questions must be attempted within 2 hours. No extra time will be given. The scores availed by the candidates will be considered by various colleges for the admission process. The dates are yet to be released but it is expected that the MHCET 2021 exam might be conducted in July 2021. 

Students who want to prepare for the exam can start preparing through MH CET online test series. As the dates have not been announced, candidates can utilize this time by preparing through these online test series for comprehending the process of the exam. 

Eligibility Criteria for MH CET 2021

Candidates are strictly advised to check the eligibility criteria for MHCET Exam 2021 set by the Directorate of Technical Education, as the fee once paid is usually non-refundable. Below mentioned are the points based on which MH CET candidates might be considered eligible.  

  • Nationality: Maharashtra Citizens of India
  • Other State Candidates: Birth Certificate/ Domicile Certificate/ Residential Certificate that is issued by the Government of Maharashtra will be mandatory for other state candidates for appearing in MHCET 2021
  • Age limit: NOT APPLICABLE
  • Qualifying Exam: 10+2 passed or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University
  • Qualifying Marks: Qualifying exam with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)
  • Final Year appearing candidates: Students appearing in the final year of their qualifying exam will be permitted to fill the form and appear in the MHCET exam

Note – Female candidates will not be eligible for Mining Engineering Course. 

For Pharmacy courses:

  • Qualifying certificate- Applicants should have a 10+2 passing certificate with English, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/ Technical Vocational subject/ Biology/ Biotechnology
  • Reservation– 45% for the General category candidates and 40% for Reserved category

For Engineering Courses:

  • Qualifying certificate- Applicants should have a 10+2 passing certificate with English, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/ Technical Vocational subject/ Biology/ Biotechnology
  • Qualifying marks requirement- Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for reserved category candidates)
  • Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)
  • JEE- Qualifying marks in JEE Main Paper 1 (All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu, and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates)

MH CET 2021 Pattern & Syllabus 

The exam pattern as decided by the Common Exam Cell for MHCET EXAM 2021 can be like this:- 

  • Duration- 2 hours
  • Total questions- 150
  • Types of questions- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) 
  • Marks per question- 1
  • Paper language– English & Marathi

As indicated in the previous year’s official notification, the computer-based test consists of three papers. Aspirants have an advantage at this point as the exam dates are yet to be decided, it is the best time to prepare through various MH CET online test series. Focus on the subjects as per your choice. 

Paper-1: Mathematics 

Paper-2: Physics and Chemistry

Paper-3: Biology 

    1. Physics: Magnetic effect of electric current, Measurements, Refraction of Light, Friction in solids and liquids, Ray Optics, Scalars and Vectors, Force, Magnetism, etc. 
    2. Chemistry:  Basic principles and techniques in organic chemistry, States of Matter: Gases and liquids, Redox reaction, Surface chemistry, Hydrogen, Nature of chemical bond, Alkanes, S-Block elements (Alkali and alkaline earth metals), Some basic concepts of chemistry, etc.
    3. Mathematics: Trigonometric functions of Compound Angles, Trigonometric functions, Sequence and Series, Circle and Conics, Relations and Functions, Factorization Formulae, Straight Line, Sets, Probability, etc.

 

  • Biology:

 

  • Zoology – Human Respiration, Organization of Cell, Animal tissues, Human Nutrition. 
  • Botany – Plant Water Relations and Mineral Nutrition, Diversity in organisms, Plant Growth and Development, Biochemistry of a cell.
