Total Questions: 93
Total Marks: 93
Total Duration: 140 minutes (35 minutes each for four sections)
Marking System: No Negative Marking
LSAT is a unique test in more than one ways. It focuses only on Reading and Verbal reasoning skills, hence the paper does not have Legal Aptitude, General Knowledge, Mathematics or Grammar. It also happens to be the only entrance test which has sectional time limit despite being a paper-based test.
|Sr No||Section||Total Questions||Marks|
|3||1st Logical Reasoning||23||35|
|4||2nd Logical Reasoning||23||35|
Section 1: Reading Comprehension
No. of Questions: 24
This section was similar to last year’s paper where direct questions were completely absent whereas reasoning and application-based questions were prominent throughout the section. There were four passages which were quite lengthy and exhaustive. The distribution of questions was not even i.e. one passage had nine questions while the rest had four to five questions. The topics were such as the Business plan of a Music company, Planets and Celestial Bodies and Different Marketing strategies. These passages were of 500-600 words length. All the questions were Inferential in nature which required a thorough reading of the passage, which led the questions being time-consuming. Aspirants would have found it difficult to genuinely attempt all the RCs.
Level of difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
Ideal attempts: 18+
Ideal Correct: 13+
Section 2: Analytical Reasoning
No. of Questions: 23
Unlike LSAT 2017, this year this section can be categorised as relatively the easiest one. Aspirants might have felt comfort in attempting all the questions. There were four sets of Arrangement in this section. All the questions were of conditional arrangement. This means each question was, in fact, a different possible arrangement. For example, one set was about a Singer and the sequence of his performances. The questions were about the relative sequence based on the given conditions.
Prepared aspirants would have capitalised on this section.
Level of difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Ideal attempts: 20+
Ideal Correct: 16+
Section 3 & 4: 1st & 2nd Logical Reasoning
No. of Questions: 23 & 23
LSAT has always put more weightage on Verbal Reasoning in previous years. This year was no different. Both the Logical Reasoning sections were completely dominated by Critical Reasoning. The question distribution was same across both the sections. The questions were asked from the topics such as Flaw in the statement, Strengthen or weaken the argument, Inference based critical reasoning, Conclusive summary based reasoning etc. With proper time management, a prepared aspirant would have been able to attempt almost all the questions. One section was Easy to Moderate while the other section was relatively tough.
Level of difficulty: Moderate
Ideal attempts: 37+
Ideal Correct: 29+
|Section||Total Qs||Level of difficulty||Total Time||Ideal Attempts||Ideal Correct|
|Reading Comprehension||24||Moderate to Difficult||35||18+||13+|
|Analytical Reasoning||23||Easy to Moderate||35||20+||16+|
|1st Logical Reasoning||23||Easy to Moderate||35||20+||16+|

We wish all the aspirants a great luck for the results!
