About SAT

The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. It is wholly owned, developed, and published by the College Board, a private, not-for-profit organization in the United States. It is administered on behalf of the College Board by the Educational Testing Service,[3] which until recently developed the SAT as well.[4] The test is intended to assess students' readiness for college.

The SAT takes three hours to finish, plus 50 minutes for the SAT with essay, and as of 2019 costs US$49.50 (US$64.50 with the optional essay), excluding late fees, with additional processing fees if the SAT is taken outside the United States.[7] Scores on the SAT range from 400 to 1600, combining test results from two 200-to-800-point sections: Mathematics, and Critical Reading and Writing.

SAT exam tests you based on three sections. Often known as the SAT subjects, these are writing, critical reading, and mathematics.

1. Writing Section

The writing section in the SAT test consists of three further sections. These include an easy section and two multiple choice question sections. The essay section is 25 minutes, while the multiple-choice sections are 25 minutes and 10 minutes each. This action has four passages, based on which some questions need to be answered. The main goal of this section is to test a candidate's grammar, usage, rhetoric, and style of the English language.

2. Critical Reading

The critical reading section of the SAT exam consists of three subjects as well. These are the reading comprehension section of 25 minutes, sentence comprehension section of 25 minutes, and a paragraph-length critical reading section of 20 minutes each. The reading section has five passages from previously published works from literature, social studies, and sciences. This section tests the student's ability to analyze evidence and understand the context.

3. Mathematics

One of the most important sections of the SAT exam is the mathematics section. It consists of three sections. The first section is algebra and functions with a time of 25 minutes; the second is the geometry statistics section of 20 minutes, and finally, the probability and data analysis section of 20 minutes. The mathematics section is majorly divided into a calculator and a no-calculator section. The calculator section consists of multiple-choice questions based on problem-solving and data analysis. The non-calculator section, on the other hand, consists of questions based on advanced maths, geometry, trigonometry, etc.
