Total Duration: 120 minutes
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks
Section 1: Quantitative Ability
No. of Questions: 30
This was a moderate section for a well-prepared student. Like last year this year too there were 10 questions based on Data Interpretation, divided into two sets of 5 questions each. One set had pie-chart and tables and this set was quite calculative, whereas the other set was based on bar-graphs and was easy. Questions based on Percentages, Numbers, Ratios and their applications were relatively easy. There were a few questions from Algebra and that too were easy to attempt. Apart from these, there were questions based on Time and Distance, Time and Work and Permutation and Combinations, these were of moderate difficulty. There were no questions from Geometry or mensuration. Overall the section can be considered as Moderate. A well-prepared student would have attempted 25+ Questions with 85%+ accuracy. Ideal time allotted to this section could be 30-35 Minutes. Good score in this section could be 20+.
Section 2: General English
No. of Questions: 40
There were two passages carrying 5 questions each. Both the passages were of easy to moderate difficulty level. Approximately, half of this section was based on Vocabulary, ranging from questions to find incorrect Spelling, One-word substitution and replace the underlined word in the given sentence with appropriate synonyms or antonyms. A candidate with good vocabulary would have capitalised on this. There were around 8-10 questions on grammar of which 4 questions were of error detection and the rest were of fill in the blanks with appropriate prepositions. These questions were of Moderate difficulty level. Overall the section can be considered Easy. Candidate with good command over language would have attempted 32+ questions in 30 minutes with 80%+ accuracy. Good score could be 23+.
Section 3: Analytical and Logical Reasoning
No. of Questions: 30
This section was a bit tricky this year. There were two questions based on finding the odd one out in a number series and both of them were challenging. Surprisingly, in this section, there were questions based on Probability and Time and Work as well. There were 2 questions each on Statement and Conclusion, and Assertion and Reasoning and 1 question on Blood relations. These questions were of moderate difficulty level and could be answered quickly. However, there was 1 set each on Arrangement and Puzzles and both of these sets were time-consuming. A well-prepared student would have attempted 24+ Questions with 85%+ accuracy. Ideal time allotted to this section could be 35-40 Minutes. Good score in this section could be 19+.
Section 4: General Awareness
No. of Questions: 30
Around 80% of questions in this section were based on static GK and the remaining questions were based on current affairs. This would have surprised those students who had concentrated more on current affairs and in the process might have paid little attention to static GK during their preparations. In the static GK, there were around 4-5 questions based on History, around 4-5 questions based on Constitution and few questions on Economics and Geography. In current affairs, most of the questions were based on sports and awards. A well-prepared candidate could have attempted 18+ questions in 10 minutes with 75% accuracy. Good score could be 12+.
|Section||Total Questions||Level of difficulty||Good score|
|Analytical & Logical Reasoning||30||Moderate||19+|
|General Awareness||30||Moderate to Difficult||12+|
