National Institute of Industrial Engineering’s Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM) aims to groom young managers who will not only design better procedures and systems but also manage the associated technologies successfully. PGDIM blends classroom work and hands-on industry internship. To lead industry in this new era, one also needs self-reliant “intrapreneurs” who can provide the necessary vision and leadership. As always, however, such a manager must also be able to create a synergy among all the components of the organization he/she manages.

Batch Size: 240

Batch Composition: The Class of 2018 was a perfect blend of fresh graduates and experienced professionals. It was a set of students from diverse engineering backgrounds coming from prestigious institutes like IITs, NITs, BITS Pilani etc. There were 33% fresh graduates in the batch of 2016-18. 30% of the batch had work experience of up to 24 months. 72% of the students having work experience had experience either in Manufacturing or in IT industry.

Placement: Final Placement process for 2016-18 batch saw 135 companies offering coveted roles across multiple domains and among them there were 35 first time recruiters. The highest Domestic salary offered was Rs 46.50 Lakhs. The average salary for the entire batch was Rs 18.45 Lakhs with a median salary of Rs 17 Lakhs. Consulting and IT/Analytics were not far behind and their contribution remained overwhelming with 125+ offers combined. 34% of the Batch opted for careers in these two domains. Admission Process: For the shortlisting of candidates for Interview Process different weightage shall be assigned to the scores of different sections of the CAT. From the shortlisted candidates, admission to PGDIM program shall be based on Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Class X & Class XII marks and CAT scores as provided by IIMs.
