The PGPM course curriculum at the Management Development Institute is spread across six terms of about three months each. The core (compulsory) courses are covered in four terms, with the bulk covered in the first three terms. These core courses enhance the ability to communicate, analyze situations and make decisions using both quantitative and qualitative considerations, and help them develop a holistic view of business management and the business environment. The teaching methods include lectures, case studies, seminars, assignments, live projects, group discussions, business games, outbound-based experiential learning activities, educational excursions, role plays, simulation exercises, structured and unstructured group work, and field visits. The emphasis is on involving the students in learning and helping them to relate concepts and theories to business realities.

Batch Size: 360

Batch Composition: The average work experience for the entire batch of 2016-18 is 22 months with 30% of the students being fresh Graduates and 8% of the students having an experience of over 36 months. Number of fresh graduates’ intake has gone up from 24% in batch 2016-18 to 30% in the batch 2018-20. As far as Education diversity is concerned, 72% students are Engineers, followed by 13% commerce, 6% science, 4% arts and 5% from other streams. The percentage of Engineering students have gone down from 82% in the batch of 2016-18 to 72% in the batch of 2018-20. The average age of the entire batch is 24 years and the number of female students has gone up to 32% of the batch from 26% in 2016-18 batch.

Placements: Final Placement process for 2016-18 batch saw 119 companies offering coveted roles across multiple domains and among them there were 28 first time recruiters. The highest Domestic salary offered was Rs 35 Lakhs and International salary was Rs 55 Lakhs. The average salary for the entire batch was Rs 19.17 Lakhs with a median salary of Rs 18.30 Lakhs. BFSI and Consulting were the highest recruiters for PGPM and PGP-IM with 25% and 23% jobs. For PGPHRM, consulting companies recruited 22% of the students. Admission Process: Each candidate applying to this college must have taken CAT. The Institute will decide the section-wise as well as total cut-off marks which will be used for shortlisting the candidates to be called for Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview. The final selection will be made based on the candidate’s performance in the CAT as well as in the Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview (which factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience).
