IIM Bangalore Placement Report 2021

Batch Size: 420

Batch Composition: For the batch 2018-20, a total of 430 students were given admission. Out of which, 121 students were female, and 309 students were male. The Engineering graduates formed the major part of the batch with 384 out of 430 and only 27 students from the commerce background. Among the Engineering graduates, 33% were from IITs and 21% are from NITs. Around 19% of the total batch of 2018-20 were fresh graduates and the remaining with work experience. Around one-fourth of the entire batch has work experience of more than 2 years and less than 3 years. More than 20% of the entire batch has work experience for more than three years.

Placements: IIM Bangalore final Placement for PGP 2017-19 students saw 129 companies making 488 offers to 411 participating students. Average domestic salary at IIM Bangalore has gone up to Rs.24.54 lakhs while the average international salary stood at Rs.62.30 lakhs in Placement 2019. Accenture Strategy emerged as the top recruiter with 30 offers followed by A. T. Kearney, Bain & Company and The Boston Consulting Group each making 14 offers.

Admission Process: IIM Bangalore usually follows a two-step selection process. First, shortlisting based on CAT score and then WAT and PI rounds for the shortlisted students. Candidates who fulfill the first stage of the admission criteria (CAT) are called for WAT and PI rounds. They look for students with strong analytical skills and orientation towards an outcome, as reflected in their CAT scores and in their academic and work performance.
