The two-year, full-time, residential Post Graduate Program, leading up to Post Graduate Diploma in Management, is designed to equip students to take on leadership roles in a rapidly changing global scenario. It has been accorded equivalence with master’s degree of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for admission to higher studies. With three terms in a year and summer internship on completion of first year, the program lays foundation for conceptual and analytical reasoning, and gives students an insight into the dynamics of the business environment. Guest lectures, by various academicians, industrialists, and eminent personalities, also enrich student experience. Courses are delivered and evaluated through a combination of lectures, classroom discussions, case studies, individual and group projects, term papers, role plays, business games etc.

Batch Size: 61 (batch 2017-19)

Batch Composition: The 2016-18 batch had 24% female and 76% male students. 96% of the batch had an engineering degree and the rest were BBA/BMS. There were no students from the commerce background in that batch. 22% of the batch had work experience of 0-11 months, 60% had work experience of more than 24 months.

Placements: The Final Placement Process for IIM Visakhapatnam was on rolling basis held on campus, and the Institute witnessed 42 companies participating in the process and multiple offers being rolled out. Due to the outstanding efforts of students in summer internship and corporate competitions, 18% of the students received PPO/PPIs. The average salary for the top quartile offers is Rs. 16.29 Lakhs per annum (LPA), and the top half is Rs. 14.14 LPA. The average salary for the batch is Rs. 12.07 LPA while the median stood at Rs. 11.70 LPA. The various roles offered to the students of 2016-18 batch are as follows:

Admission Process: Students entering IIM Vishakapatnam are selected through a rigorous process, comprising of the Common Admission Test (CAT), one of the most competitive entrance examinations in the country, followed by a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview.
