MICA’s flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communications (PGDM-C) grooms business leaders with a focus on creative thinking, consumer-centrality, communication and community outreach. The PGDM-C, equivalent to an MBA, has evolved into one of the premier programs in the country. This program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) since 1995 and the Association of Indian University (AIU), which equates it with an MBA degree. MICA compares favorably with the top B-Schools and top MBA colleges in India. It is, of course, considered to be the premier institute in Strategic Marketing and Communication.

Batch Size: 180

Batch Composition: Out of the total 173 students of 2016-18 batch, 46% were female and 54% male. More than a third of the students were fresh graduates and more than a third had work experience of up to 24 months. In this batch, 49% of the students were engineers, followed by 16% having management degrees and 12% were from Arts background.

Placements: For the 2016-18 batch, altogether 76 recruiting companies came to the campus. The average salary for the entire batch stood at Rs 12,30,000 with a highest salary of Rs 25,00,000 (Domestic) and Rs 35,27,350 (International). The students who got offers from IT/ITES and E – Commerce companies got the maximum average salary of Rs 14,00,000.A snapshot of the sector wise recruiters are as follows:

Admission Process: Each candidate must have taken at least one of the three exams: CAT/ XAT/GMAT. Then, all candidates are assessed on MICAT, which consists of 3 sections:

Section A: Psychometric Test
Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) – Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking
Section C: Descriptive Test.

Finally, all the candidates shortlisted based on their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT & MICAT shall appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI).
