The flagship Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi is a two-year, full-time residential Program. The Post-Graduate Program lasts six trimesters, spread over two years, with a summer project in between the two years. The curriculum is reviewed and revised periodically so that it remains relevant and contemporary.

The PGDHRM at IIM Ranchi is premised on the understanding of this paradigmatic shift. It is posited on a pedagogy and course curriculum that seeks to provide to its participants breadth and depth of business knowledge, mastery of HR management concepts and awareness, appreciation and understanding of the application of HR learning and practices in a business context.

Batch Size: 183 (PGDM 2017-19) and 64 (PGDHRM 2017-19)

Batch Composition: The 2017-19 batch has 36% female students and 64% male students. 21% of the batch are fresh graduates and the rest have work experience. Only 6% students of PGDHRM and 26% of the students of PGDM are fresh graduates. While 42% of the PGDHRM batch has work experience of 13-24 months, the same for PGDM is 22%. For both the courses, 33% students have work experience of 2-3 years’ work experience.

Placements: The PGDM batch witnessed 89 companies visiting the campus this year to make 133 offers to the students. 16 companies offered Pre-Placement Offers to 27 students.The highest CTC offered was 57 LPA. The average CTC for top 25% and 50% of the batch stands at 19.75 and 17.63 LPA respectively. This season also saw lateral offers extended by recruiters to the students with higher work experience. The PGDHRM batch of 2016-18 made their presence felt in the industry by bagging offers from some of the biggest organizations in the country. 51 companies visited the campus this year, of which 34 were first time recruiters. The highest CTC offered was 21 LPA. The average CTC for top 10% and 25% of the batch stands at 21 and 20.52 LPA respectively. The continuously growing base of recruiters and an increase of 14.43% in the average CTC is a testimony to the trust that the industry has in IIM Ranchi graduates. Admission Process: Students entering IIM Ranchi are selected through a rigorous process, comprising of the Common Admission Test (CAT), one of the most competitive entrance examinations in the country, followed by a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview.
